We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. As Scripture affirms, “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth” (Acts 17:24). We acknowledge Him as the sole Creator, for He declares, “I am the LORD who made everything, who stretched out the heavens by Myself and spread out the earth alone” (Isaiah 44:24).

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. As John testifies, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). He is God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father. Through him all things were made, for “all things were created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16).

For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. As Scripture reveals, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35).

For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. As Paul proclaims, “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, as Mark records, “After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God” (Mark 16:19). He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. Jesus himself declared, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him” (Matthew 25:31-32).

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. As Jesus said, “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me” (John 15:26). The Holy Spirit is worshipped and glorified with the Father and the Son, and has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one, holy, universal apostolic Church, as Christ prayed, “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you” (John 17:21). We confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins, for “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38).

We look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come, as Jesus promised, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25). We await the day when “all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned” (John 5:28-29).
