Memphis is gearing up for a weekend of excitement, inspiration, and community impact as the Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis presents the return of its Annual All-Star Charitable Celebrity Basketball Game-City Meets the County 2-on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Southwind High School. The festivities kick off with the All-Star Youth Basketball Camp on Friday, June 13th, setting the stage for a powerful weekend dedicated to supporting local youth and charitable initiatives.
Why This Event Matters
This isn’t just a basketball game-it’s a rallying point for Memphis and Shelby County to come together for a cause that transcends sports. By uniting local celebrities, influencers, public servants, and community leaders on the court, the event sends a clear message: the well-being and future of our youth are priorities that demand collective action.
The goal is ambitious-raising $60,000 to fund creative arts, mentorship, and outreach programs that give young people positive alternatives and real opportunities. In a city where youth face challenges from violence to lack of resources, every dollar raised goes directly toward building safer, healthier, and more hopeful neighborhoods.
A Message from Community Leaders
When city and county officials, including mayors, council members, and community icons, lace up their sneakers for this game, they’re doing more than entertaining the crowd. They’re showing Memphis youth that their leaders are invested, present, and willing to lead by example. The message is clear: “We see you, we support you, and your future matters.”
This spirit of unity and hope is at the heart of Heal the Hood Foundation’s mission-using creative engagement, mentorship, and positive role models to inspire the next generation and break cycles of violence and despair.
