Christmas with the Forrest Spence Fund and Absolute Moving Services!
December 29, 2019
Ever since I founded Absolute Moving Services, I knew that I wanted to give back. In the beginning, I wasn't sure how I would give back. But I knew we would figure it out.

Ever since I founded Absolute Moving Services, I knew that I wanted to give back. In the beginning, I wasn't sure how I would give back. But I knew we would figure it out. Once my business was up and running a couple years, I was contacted by a kind-hearted and passionate young lady named Brittany Spence, who ran a local non-profit called the Forrest Spence Fund. She was looking for movers to help her during the year with the various moving needs of her non-profit organization. Whether it be delivering tables, chairs, and decor for the silent auctions, or moving office furniture, or delivering Christmas presents to the children at Lebonheur at Christmas time. I knew in that moment that this was the calling I had been waiting for. I was so excited about this opportunity I don't think I even let her finish with her pitch before I said "Absolutely!" I was all in!

This business decision turned out to be one of the best I have made. Keep in mind that we have moved hundreds and hundreds of clients in and out of the Mid South. We have been in some of the fanciest and largest homes you can imagine. We have served some of the most amazing and unique people we have ever met. We have been coast to coast serving our valued clients. But nothing can compare to being able to partner up with an organization whose mission is to help and serve the precious hospitalized children and their families in our community. No amount of money or financial profit can hold a candle to being able to give back in this way. Out of everything we do in our partnership with the Forrest Spence Fund, my absolute favorite is the annual Christmas gift delivery. I can't even begin to describe the joy that comes from seeing the smiles on the children's faces when we show up with a truckload of Christmas presents at Lebonheur Children's Hospital.

Behind the Scenes with Forrest Spence Fund and Absolute Moving Service!

This project happens to be my favorite part of this special partnership. I like to call it "Operation North Pole". I literally feel like Santa Clause when we pull up at the hospital to unload all of the gifts. One by one, we roll the presents off the truck and into the hospital. Each year, it hits me just a little harder. How unbelievably special and surreal it is to be a part of something so magical. I like to call Brittany and the people who make up the Forrest Spence Fund a team of angels. And I truly believe they are. They always find a way to bring the community together like they do for "Operation North Pole". This is such a huge team effort. They collect the donated toys from people all over the Mid South. Then they have a team who wraps the gifts. And there's us, the delivery team. And finally, they have a team at the hospital who passes the gifts out to the all the children. It is a true honor to be able to play a small role in their huge mission of love and service. And the icing on the cake for me is that is 100% about the children. I absolutely love children and to be able to bring smiles and joy to these precious little ones is something I will always cherish.

Each Christmas when we pull up at the entrance to :Lebonheur, and we drop that ramp to start rolling the gifts in, I am reminded why I love being a small business owner. I am reminded why I love the city of Memphis and the amazing people who live here. But most importantly, I am reminded how truly blessed I am. To be able to be a part of something so incredibly special, and to witness first-hand the power of love and kindness. On behalf of all of us at Absolute Moving Services, have a blessed and safe New Year.
