The Magic of the "Thon"

You know it’s a good year when you can mix serious automotive dominance with a little bit of R&B nostalgia. If you haven’t seen it yet, Toyota teamed up with R&B legend Sisqó and a roster of NFL stars to remix the classic "Thong Song" into the "Official Thon Song."

It wasn't just a commercial; it was a cultural victory lap.

Featuring NFL heavyweights like San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, Green Bay’s Jordan Love, Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr., and Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton, the campaign captured exactly how we feel about our lineup right now: confident, energetic, and undeniably fun.

As the lyrics say, "This thing right here, is lettin' everybody know what this season is all about."

It’s about the "Magic of Toyotathon." It’s about securing that financing on a new Tundra, rolling out in a Tacoma, and feeling that excitement that only comes from driving a new Toyota. When you have Brock Purdy calling the audible "Toy-o-ta" and Puka Nacua dancing in the end zone, you know the energy is real.

The Numbers: A Historic 2025

But the "Thon Song" was just the soundtrack to a much bigger story. While Sisqó was handling the vocals, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) was handling business.

We are proud to share that TMNA reported year-end 2025 U.S. sales of over 2.5 million vehicles. That is an 8.0% increase compared to 2024. In the fourth quarter alone, sales jumped 8.1%, proving that the momentum isn't slowing down—it’s speeding up.

"We’re grateful for the strong response from our Toyota customers in 2025," said Andrew Gilleland, Senior VP of Automotive Operations at Toyota. "The success of iconic top-sellers like the Camry and Corolla, alongside a broad lineup of vehicles starting under $30,000, shows that customers value having accessible options."

The Electric Revolution is Here (and It’s Optional)

One of the most staggering stats from the 2025 report is the shift toward electrification. But unlike other manufacturers who are forcing the switch, Toyota is winning by giving you choices.

In 2025, sales of electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and EVs) totaled 1,183,248 vehicles. That is a 17.6% increase.

What does that mean for the average driver? It means that nearly 47% of all Toyota and Lexus models sold were electrified. Almost half of our customers are choosing to save at the pump without sacrificing performance.
